Cutter Efficiency

Good Morning,

I’m looking into trying to improve our cutter efficiency and I noticed our dry haul time is greater than cut time.  Is this normal, or should cut time be greater?  I’m thinking cut time should be greater... If so, what is the normal percentage for cut time to dry haul time.  I’m thinking to improve dry haul I would need to check markers to se how the cut sequences are for the cutter?

Thanks,

Veronica

Check the sequence of the parts, is the knife head jumping all over the place?  Have you tried sequencing the parts in AccuMark?

    Hi Lisa,

The reports I pulled was for all cuts that we cut for that week.  They have me looking into improving cutter efficiency so I'm trying to understand the reports and how the cut data goes along with the report.  I'm going to check on the sequencing for the parts in AccuMark and see how the pieces are placed.  If I'm thinking right, I need to check the start and stop point of one piece to the next, to make sure they are close to each other, to reduce the dry haul time?  So, am I thinking right that the dry haul time shouldn't be more than the cut time?  I'm trying to figure out what the normal percentage would be for cut time to dry haul time.

    Thanks,
    Veronica

Good idea on the start and stop points.

My experience, In the ideal mode, the next piece is close the cut piece. Max dry haul distance is less that 1/2 total perimeter of the cut file. But dry haul speed should faster than cut speed. so the idea dry haul time should< 1/2 cut time.
To reduce dry haul time , You need to Optimize cutting sequence.

    Hi wilson_dai,

Looking at our cutter reports that are generated from our cutter, it looks as though we need some improvement on dry haul time.  If I'm understanding correctly, dry haul needs to be at least half or less of cut time, correct?  in our reports all dry haul times are more than cut times.  Here is an example of one of our reports I've converted into a spreadsheet.  We are working at improving idle and interrupt times.  After seeing this post I'm thinking dry haul should be a lot less?

    Thanks for all your help

We are off till Monday for the Holiday.  I will post screenshot with P-cutter table once I get back.  Just curious... is there a particular setting that I need to check on?

There are maybe set sequence part cutting.

    Hi Vasyl,

Sorry, been busy and just got a chance to post you a screenshot with P-cutter table.

@vhubbard, oops. A Category sectiin is empty. Do you cutting data from direct acconark&oaragon, or use some preprocessing (cutworks, or else).
One more question. Is cutter process piece-by-piece, or jumping from one corner to enither, then back to piece if prev section, ...?

    what software are you using?

I think you are looking for gerber cutmask software. Its old software and it organize cutting command in rs277x and it optimize cutting way.

Here is my Personal suggestion to reduce Dry haul.
1: disable cut small first on P-cutter table (this may effect cut quality if Vacuum not strong enough)
2:  disable piece mirror cut on P-cutter table(this may effect cut quality)
3:  disable "Piece cut priority" on P-cutter table (default setting)
4:  disable "Choose start points near quite zone"on P-cutter table
5:  disable/enable " Alternate start point" on accumark (relate  to  Accumark version)

6: Optimize cut sequence on Accumark (adjust parameter according to the Cutter setting), Cutworks can also helpful on this. you can auto-tool-path by outworks wizard.(But Accumark better)
