convert illustrator DXF files to Gerber AAMA DXF

Hi 

could you tell me if it is possible to convert graded patterns produced in illustrator (DXF files) to Gerber AAMA DXF files?  I've paid for grading through one company & having to move production to another, however the new company doesnt use illustrator and want to charge me to redigitise the patters. I'd rather not have to pay a second time for something that I've already paid for

Can the graded patterns in Illustrator be saved as an ASTM dxf?  Do you have that option?
Can you attach the file for me to take a look?

Hi, you can´t save in ASTM dxf from Illustrator, you can save in DXF format from Illustrator

Hello Jo,
You can take the graded Illustrator patterns and save them as a standard dxf.  or the autoCad dxf option.  You can bring those patterns into AccuMark Pattern Design system and use the  grade\create nest function.  If you want me to write up instructions for you send me your dxf file.  you can email it to [email protected]

Hi @NorthStarSport. Is the AI a original format for grading? Or a pieces was graded some else and converted to Illustrator?

Hello, Could anyone help me with same issue : I recieved .ai file , Pattern pieces with grading , from my client . I need to convert it to a workable file for Gerber accumark . How do I do it? Thank you

But you try open DXF files - no AI.
you've export data from AI to DXF or PLT...

@Vasyl , thank you for getting  in touch . There is no option to select .ai file in 'conversion utility". 
So what i have is .ai file . Graded patterns. How do i convert them to an AAMA dxf Accumark workable files ?  Do i have to use maybe an external file converter to convert .ai to .dxf first , and only then to import it to accumark via utility converter???Thank you

I'm not familiar with illustrator. But in case CorelDraw i would export data as standart dxf file or PLT and import last one in AccuMArk. 
I'm not sure you'll find convertor ai to AAMA...

Thank you , @Vasyl . Both corel and illustrator are similar . What setting should be selected when "saving as" DXF file for the patterns to be later imported to accumark correctly? On one of the picture it shows how it got imported to accumark . Pretty messy. On two other pictures (which i found online. Adobe illustator ) it shows  the settings that they suggest. Does it look right to you ?

You've to play with settings. Try change someone and check result..
And take in mind the Accumark has dxf settings for import too.
cos you've match common of it.
