Is it possible to export pattern shapes created in PDS to Illustrator or photoshop so that image diagrams can be created on how to construct the garments?

Yes, you have the option of saving pieces as 1:1 files that can be used in illustrator or photoshop.  You can access this option either via PDS ribbon function Verify|Copy 1:1 or File|Save As 1:1.

    I hope this helps!

Jaye is spot on! The copy to clipboard features are great to quickly copy the layout of the pieces in the work area of Pattern Design or Easy Marking. Once copied to the clipboard, you can use ctrl V to paste directly in Illustrator or Photoshop or any program. It's a wonderful feature especially when used in conjunction with Adobe Illustrator as the piece perimeters automatically copy as vector paths!!! Also if this a common practice, consider setting up a custom hotkey in PDS for easy access to the tool. On my system, I've configured Ctrl C hotkey for copy to clipboard.
